FAQ
Who is Dvectis meant for?
Virtually for everyone except for persons after surgery who are still not fit for physical rehabilitation. Today’s global society is "seated" and has only very limited active movement. Pain and spine conditions are the number one health problems in our society. Dvectis is already recommended to young children as a preventive measure as nearly 30% of first-graders already suffer from emerging scoliosis and spinal deformities. At the age of 18, the proportion grows to nearly 60%. Along with its preventive effects, Dvectis also helps in rehabilitation. Active dynamic-directional sitting stimulates the muscles and helps create a correct posture of the spine, skeletal system and postural muscles. In fact, muscles are exercised all the time, reducing stress and pressure on the spine and intervertebral discs.
Do I have to inflate Dvectis?
Yes, Dvectis is an inflatable dynamic-directional pad. Inflate Dvectisup to 2 inches in height to ensure a balanced comfort level. As inflating or deflating, use front teeth to gently squeeze and release the air safety inside of the air valve for faster and easier air flow. Always push the valve inside the pad after the completion. Adjust the air volume as your comfort level allows. The off balance and core muscles strength needed tends to increases with the higher level of inflation.
How do I use and sit properly on Dvectis?
At the beginning (the first few weeks), sit on the slightly inflated Dvectis for 5 to 10 minutes and repeat 10 to 15 times a day. Allow 5 to 10 minutes breaks in between the sets break (You can put your Dvectis behind you back and lean on it for a better comfort level). Gradually increase the time limits as your comfort level allows. As the deep core muscles get progressively stronger, you should feel more comfortable to sit on Dvectis for a longer period of time. Place your inflated dynamic-directional pad Dvectis with the air valve facing downward to the front of the chair. Sit comfortably on the pad. Slightly spread your legs with the feet flat on the ground. When sitting, your legs should be bent at 90° degree angle. Sit on the whole surface of the pad so that your tailbone is in a vertical line with the Dvectis logo that’s positioned on the surface. Sit relaxed and feel free to change positions. Don‘t be discouraged by feeling slightly increased tension in your core muscles. It‘s a positive reaction to strengthening your muscles. Please refer to our User manual for details and specific exercises for healthier sitting.
Does Dvectis really work?
Dvectis is a dynamic-directional pad. It is the only one of its kind in the world. Dvectis creates a dynamic muscular movement that changes the tradition rigid sitting to dynamic-directional form of exercise and directs muscle stimulus to specific parts of the human body. Dvectis is a young product, but during its short and very intensive times on the market, Dvectis has been subject to a number of independent clinical studies. The studies can be found under the Efficiency section of this website which is regularly updated with newly completed studies carried out by medical teams across the world.
Can I actively exercise with Dvectis?
Yes, it is encouraged to perform exercises while sitting on the Dvectis pad. Recommended exercises are included inside of the box with every Dvectis or can be also found under our How To Use section www.dvectis.com/en/how-to-use/exercises-for-healthy-sitting/.
Is it normal that my back hurts after using Dvectis?
Dvectis is designed to help strengthen core muscles. Muscle soreness might occur as the muscles might not be used to the motions of dynamic sitting. The off balance and core muscles strength needed tends to increases with the higher level of inflation. Shorter or longer breaks and air volume adjustments are recommended as needed. The conventional static setting with relaxed back muscles leads to deformation of the spine. You need to get used to dynamic-directional sitting. For this reason, we recommend you initially inflate Dvectis to achieve less intense dynamic effects (inflated less than 1.5 inch in height). The process of adaptation to dynamic-directional sitting is very fast. Sitting on Dvectis may at first cause muscles and back tension or discomfort. But don't be alarmed. It is a positive response – just normally strained muscles. Your muscles, even internal ones, which have not been used before are being engaged for the first time or at a different strength level. In the first weeks, you can alternate sitting on Dvectis with classical static sitting and gradually move to sitting on Dvectis only as you feel comfortable.
What are the dimensions and weight capacity of Dvectic?
The current size is universal 15 x 16 x 0.4 inch (W x L x H). The height can increase from 0.4 to 2 inches after inflation.
How do I maintain my Dvectis?
The sitting part of the pad can be easily cleaned with a brush and mild soap in warm (not hot) water. Don‘t sew anything on Dvectis pad. It could damage its functionality. Avoid contact of your Dvectis pad with sharp objects. It could damage the inflatable padding. Do not wash your Dvectis in a washing machine. Operating temperature is 45 – 110 °F. Weight limit is 662 pounds. Dvectis can be only washed by hand at temperature not exceeding 100 °F. During the wash, the product can be gently rubbed and squeezed by hand without twisting. Dvectis must not be bleached. Do not use chlorine or other bleaches. Dvectis must not be washed in a washing machine. Dvectis must not be dry-cleaned. Dvectis must not be ironed.
